Un projet marqué par une refonte complète du concept à deux mois de l'échéance : le premier projet — un décor entièrement végétalisé en artificiel, devis signé et design validé par la direction européenne d'Eurosport en avril 2024 — est remis en question par la direction américaine qui exige une refonte totale du design. Nouveau brief, nouvelle conception développée en binôme avec la responsable de projet d'Épatant Paris, nouveau devis validé le 11 juin 2024 — montage livré le 18 juillet, soit 37 jours plus tard, pour une ouverture des Jeux fixe et non négociable.

Studio de diffusion JO Paris 2024 — Warner Eurosport
Trois contraintes cumulatives ont déterminé le parti pris de conception final. En premier lieu, la réglementation incendie stricte interdisait tout végétal vivant sur la toiture de diffusion. En deuxième lieu, la capacité portante de la toiture de l'Hôtel Raphaël imposait des limites de charge sévères, excluant tout système de plantation sur substrat. En troisième lieu, le calendrier de diffusion en direct continu tout au long des Jeux Olympiques rendait toute intervention de maintenance impossible pendant la durée de l'événement. C'est dans ce cadre contraint — et après l'annulation du premier projet — qu'un nouveau concept a été développé, validé et livré en 37 jours.
Solution de conception
L'installation combinait des tasseaux en bois, un éclairage LED intégré et un feuillage artificiel haut de gamme, sélectionné et positionné spécifiquement pour la performance en caméra de diffusion — texture, rendu des couleurs et réflexion de la lumière optimisés pour la télévision sous conditions d'éclairage de studio, avec la skyline parisienne et la Tour Eiffel illuminée en toile de fond. La composition restituait un aspect luxuriant et organique à l'écran tout en restant entièrement conforme aux normes incendie, structurellement légère et sans aucune maintenance.
Conduite de projet
Pilotage de la refonte conceptuelle et coordination technique complète en binôme avec la responsable de projet et les équipes créatives d'Épatant Paris. Supervision technique d'astreinte maintenue pendant toute la période des Jeux Olympiques — l'installation n'a connu aucun incident tout au long du calendrier de diffusion internationale.

Plant scenography for the Warner Eurosport broadcast studio at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, on the rooftop of Hôtel Raphaël. Commissioned by Épatant Paris, scenography contractor for Warner Eurosport — exclusive holder of Paris 2024 Olympic broadcast rights.
A project defined by a complete concept overhaul two months before the deadline: the original project — a fully artificial planted set, signed quote and design validated by Eurosport's European management in April 2024 — was challenged by US management demanding a total redesign. New brief, new concept developed in close collaboration with the project lead at Épatant Paris, new quote signed 11 June 2024 — installation delivered 18 July, 37 days later, for a fixed and non-negotiable Games opening.

Three cumulative constraints determined the final design approach. First, strict fire regulations prohibited any living plants on the broadcast rooftop. Second, the load-bearing capacity of the Hôtel Raphaël roof imposed severe weight limits, excluding any substrate-based planting system. Third, the continuous live broadcast schedule throughout the Olympic Games made any maintenance intervention impossible during the event. It was within these constraints — and following the cancellation of the first project — that a new concept was developed, validated and delivered in 37 days.
Design solution
The installation combined wooden battens, integrated LED lighting and premium artificial foliage, selected and positioned specifically for broadcast camera performance — texture, colour rendering and light reflection optimised for television under studio lighting conditions, with the Paris skyline and illuminated Eiffel Tower as backdrop. The composition delivered a lush, organic appearance on screen while remaining fully fire-compliant, structurally lightweight and maintenance-free.
Project management
Technical leadership of the conceptual redesign and full coordination in close collaboration with the project lead and the Épatant Paris creative teams. On-call technical supervision maintained throughout the entire Olympic Games period — the installation experienced no incidents throughout the international broadcast schedule.
